Corporate exec convicted of conspiracy to bribe foreign official – he either knew, or consciously avoided knowing, what was going on

Earlier this month a corporate executive was convicted, under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, of conspiring to bribe a foreign official. Apparently he didn’t do the bribing himself. But he either knew that someone else was doing so, or he consciously avoided learning that it was going on. See this Sidley & Austin memo.
